Job Description

The ideal candidate is passionate about pushing the boundaries of computer graphics and visual effects technology. They possess expertise in cutting-edge innovations and a deep understanding of ray tracing rendering techniques.

This role requires staying abreast of the latest industry research and closely collaborating with pipeline developers. The R&D Developer will engage regularly with colleagues focused on innovative topics.

Under the supervision of the Chief Technical Officer (CTO), the successful candidate will contribute to advancing our groundbreaking projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct innovative research and development in computer graphics, focusing on cutting-edge advancements to enhance our VFX projects.
• Explore, implement, and refine ray tracing-based rendering techniques to achieve photorealistic and visually excellent results.
• Analyze and dissect the latest research papers to identify opportunities for integrating new, innovative techniques into our workflows and projects.
• Stay updated on emerging trends, techniques, and technologies within the visual effects and computer graphics industries.
• Collaborate seamlessly with developers/TDs to integrate new technologies into our existing pipeline.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions, contributing innovative ideas and proposing solutions to technical challenges.
• Document research findings, methodologies, and technical processes clearly and systematically.
• Present research outcomes, conclusions, and progress updates to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Work under the CTO, aligning efforts with the company’s strategic direction.

Required Skills

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Graphics.
• In-depth knowledge of ray tracing techniques, rendering models, and their practical implementation.
• Strong foundation in applied mathematics for image processing.
• Proficiency in programming languages like C++, Python, and CUDA for graphics programming.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with adaptability to new challenges and research areas.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey complex technical concepts.
• Ability to independently analyze research papers, extract relevant insights, and apply findings to concrete projects.
• Experience working with pipeline developers and integrating new technologies into existing workflows is an asset.
• Self-motivation, creativity, and dedication to staying at the forefront of industry trends and advancements.

Reports and Collaboration

• This position reports directly to the CTO, providing regular updates on research progress and results.
• The R&D Developer will work closely with pipeline developers, sharing ideas and contributing to the enhancement of production pipelines.
