Job Description

As Compositing Artist, you are responsible for the shots assigned to you. Your main mission is to ensure the seamless integration of the VFX into your shots, while respecting the directions of the VFX Supervisor.

Under the supervision of your Compositing Supervisor and leads, you will have to follow the quality standards of the company from both artistic and technical perspectives.

We are looking for artists that are problem solvers, artistically driven, motivated in improving their skill and sharing them with the team, while working on beautiful projects.

Main Responsibilities

• Compositing on challenging and exciting projects including full CG shows and integrating 2D, 3D and live-action elements to high-end visual effects.

• Manage your time effectively, working with Supervisors and Producers to meet show deadlines.

• Address the creative direction of the VFX Supervisor by providing technical and/or artistic solutions, while following the technical and artistic standard defined by the Compositing Supervisor and the HoD 2D.

• Attend dailies and other daily meetings set by production.

• Balance the creative and technical aspects of each shot, while maintaining consistency across sequences.

• Take responsibility for own workload, time management and notes/feedback actions required by Supervisors.

• Collaborate with the other departments in order to deliver shots as a team.

• Contribute to the knowledge sharing across the team. Regardless of level, we're always keen to learn from each other and share new tools and ways of working.

• Report technical & organizational problems or solutions to the Compositing Supervisor or Lead.

• Deliver shots respecting the technical and quality standards (QC).

Required Skills

• Strong sense of initiative and creativity.

• Excellent working knowledge of Nuke and production experience with it.

• Good working knowledge of color space principles.

• A strong eye for detail, composition, color and lighting.

• A comprehensive understanding of all technical and creative aspects of the VFX production and processes.

• Must be highly organized, and have the ability to juggle several tasks at once in a highly efficient manner.

• Familiarity with production tracking tools.

• Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Understanding French is a bonus.
