Description du poste

En tant que Compositing Lead, vous êtes responsable d’une ou des séquences qui vous sont attribuées au sein d’un projet. Sous la supervision du Compositing Supervisor et en collaboration avec les autres leads, vous avez pour principale mission d’assurer l’accompagnement de votre équipe pour l’aider à suivre la direction artistique du projet tout en respectant le niveau de qualité technique exigé. Vous êtes le référent principal entre les membres de l’équipe et le Compositing Supervisor.

Principales missions

• Constituer le point de contact privilégié du/de la Compositing Supervisor pour le projet affecté;

• Connaître et représenter la vision du/de la VFX Supervisor et du client;

• Répondre à la direction créative du/de la Compositing Supervisor par les solutions de fabrication en phase avec les capacités techniques des équipes et le budget du projet, tout en respectant la méthodologie de travail établie;

• Mettre en application les standards de fabrication définis par le/la Compositing Supervisor et le Studio;

• Mettre en place le look de séquence si nécessaire et création de templates pour le reste de l’équipe;

• Assurer un support actif auprès de l'équipe;

• Assurer que ses propres travaux et ceux de l’équipe sont finalisés dans les délais impartis, tout en respectant les standards de qualité technique et artistique définis;

• Accompagner les artistes lors des dailies;

• Faire part de problèmes ou solutions techniques, stratégiques et organisationnels au Compositing Supervisor;

• Contribution au partage de connaissances et à l'amélioration continue des outils et workflows;

• Participer à l'accompagnement des artistes dans leur montée en compétences, ainsi qu'à leur suivi professionnel tout au long du projet, en collaboration avec le Compositing Supervisor.
  

Compétences requises

• Au moins 8 ans d'expérience en tant que Compositing Artist / Lead sur des projets internationaux entre autres;

• Grand sens de l'initiative et de la créativité;

• Compréhension globale de tous les aspects techniques et créatifs du processus de production et de fabrication VFX;

• Grande maîtrise de Nuke;

• Capacité à produire personnellement les plans les plus complexes et à servir de référence technique pour l'équipe;

• Familiarité avec les outils de tracking de production;

• Savoir communiquer en français et en anglais aussi bien à l’oral qu’à l’écrit.

Job Description

As a Compositing Lead, you will be responsible for one or more sequences assigned to you within a project. Reporting to the Compositing Supervisor and working closely with the other Leads, your primary role is to guide and support your team in following the project's artistic direction while ensuring that the required technical quality standards are met. You will serve as the main point of contact between team members and the Compositing Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for the Compositing Supervisor on the assigned project.

• Understand and represent the vision of the VFX Supervisor and the client.

• Translate the Compositing Supervisor's creative direction into practical production solutions that align with the team's technical capabilities and the project's budget, while adhering to established workflows.

• Implement the production standards defined by the Compositing Supervisor and the studio.

• Establish the sequence look when necessary and create templates for the rest of the team.

• Provide active support and guidance to team members.

• Ensure that both your own work and the team's work are completed on schedule and meet the required technical and artistic quality standards.

• Guide artists during dailies.

• Communicate technical, strategic, and organizational issues, as well as potential solutions, to the Compositing Supervisor.

• Contribute to knowledge sharing and the continuous improvement of tools and workflows.

• Support artists in developing their skills and monitor their professional progress throughout the project, in collaboration with the Compositing Supervisor.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience as a Compositing Artist and/or Compositing Lead, including work on international projects.

• Strong initiative and creativity.

• A comprehensive understanding of all technical and creative aspects of the VFX production pipeline and workflows.

• Advanced proficiency in Nuke.

• Ability to personally handle the most complex shots and serve as a technical reference for the team.

• Familiarity with production tracking tools.

• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both French and English.
